# pieces i've played
# piano recs
# dream pieces
If I could choose one way to spend my time, it would be at the piano: I've played for over 15 years at this point, and boy am I grateful that my parents didn't let me quit in middle school, as much as I so desperately wanted to. In addition to piano, I also play cello and guitar (one could include ukulele in this list but my skills are more rudimentary there). I've spent far too much of my time performing, rehearsing, and studying music alongside my work in computer science, and I fear with time comes opinions...
# favorite pieces i've played
I've played a lot of pieces in my day: here are some personal favs!
- Debussy — Pour Le Piano
- Debussy — Deux Arabesques (No. 1 in particular)
- Debussy — Valse Romantique
- Liszt — Liebestraum No. 3
- Liszt — Concert Étude No. 3 (Un Sospiro)
- Chopin — Nocturne No. 8 in D Flat
- Chopin — Nocturne No. 2 in E Flat
# recommended listening (piano edition)
Some of these are classics, others are a little out of left field. I'm always looking for good recommendations, no matter where from.
- Sibelius — Sonatina No. 1
- Ifukube — Japanese Rhapsody: 1. Nocturne
- Boulanger — Trois Morceaux Pour Piano No. 3
- Scriabin — Étude in D-Sharp Minor
- Chopin — Raindrop Prelude
# wish list for if i was better at this
Sometimes, I fear no amount of technique can save me from the sheer lack of handspan I possess in this lifetime.
- Chopin — Fantasie-Impromptu in C-Sharp Minor
- Chopin — Nocturne No. 1 in B-Flat Minor
- Liszt — Mephisto Walz No. 1
- Schubert — Der Erlkönig
- Liszt — La Campanella
- Rachmaninoff — Pretty much anything...
