Some of the TA work I did as an undergrad:

  • Introduction to Computer Science II [CMSC 14200]: Winter 2025, Spring 2025
  • Introduction to Computer Science I [CMSC 14100]: Autumn 2024
  • Data Visualization [CMSC 23900]: Spring 2024

# scu:ba

I was a primary instructor for the Summer Coding at UChicago: Builders Academy (SCU:BA) , a program designed to introduce Chicago public high school students to computer science.

Over the course of the summer, I taught Python fundamentals, guided hands-on programming projects, and supported students with widely varying prior exposure to CS. The experience reinforced my belief that meaningful access to computing is not just about offering coursework, but about creating environments where students feel supported, capable, and encouraged to persist.

# girls who code

I founded and led a Girls Who Code club at Carnegie Elementary School on Chicago’s South Side, introducing middle-school students to creative coding, robotics, and computational thinking.

The club emphasized exploration and play over rote instruction, with activities designed to help students see computing as a tool for expression and problem solving rather than something to fear. Building this program from the ground up strengthened my commitment to early, inclusive CS education and to lowering barriers for students historically underrepresented in technical fields.

# tech team

As a member of the University of Chicago TechTeam, I contributed to the redesign of The Gate, a publication of the University of Chicago Institute of Politics. I led the website redesign within the WordPress platform, applying intuitive UX/UI design principles to improve navigation, readability, and overall usability.

In addition to design work, I applied web scraping techniques to collect and integrate relevant data, helping keep the publication current and dynamically updated. This work bridged technical development with civic engagement, supporting more accessible and data-informed public-facing journalism.
